Junior Data Scientist

Job Role

We are looking for a data scientist to join our team. Your main responsibilities will be to help develop forecasting models for economic variables by using ML and alternative datasets. You will work closely with more senior data scientists. It is an ideal opportunity to learn how to apply your statistical skills to real world economic forecasting and financial modeling.

Key responsibilities

– Using statistical analysis and machine learning to forecast economic variables such as inflation in emerging markets
– Finding new datasets for use in our economic forecasting models

Skill & qualifications

– At least a MSc degree in a quantitative subject
– Good knowledge of Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, SciPy etc.
– An understanding of fields such as machine learning, statistics and econometrics

Role will be hybrid remote working/London based/UK work permit required

Junior Data Engineer

Job Role

We are looking for a data engineer to join our team. Your main responsibilities will be to build out production code to run pipelines in Python for our model forecasts from loading data from external sources, to preprocessing to running models. You will work closely with our data scientists to convert their prototype models into production code. You will also be responsible for creating webapps and Rest APIs to deliver the forecasts to clients.

Key responsibilities

– To build out production Python code and to support running this framework on a live basis to update forecasts on regular basis
– To deploy Python code to a cloud provider such as AWS
– To maintain an internal database for storing input data and forecast data
– Monitoring processes in production

Skill & qualifications

– At least a MSc degree in a quantitative subject
– Good knowledge of Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, SciPy etc. and libraries for webapps/visualisation such as Dash and Plotly
– An understanding of techniques such as cloud based deployment (eg. using ec2, s3 buckets etc.), unit testing etc.

Data Intern/Industrial Placement

Job Role

We are looking for an intern to join our team to aid our data scientists and data engineers to develop world class forecasting models for economic variables by using ML and alternative datasets.

Key responsibilities

– To help clean and standardize datasets
– To investigate new techniques for forecasting economic time series

Skill & qualifications

– Working towards a BSc/MSc degree in a quantitative subject
– Good knowledge of Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, SciPy etc.
– An understanding of techniques such as machine learning and statistics
